In the fashion world, patterned knitwear is back in fashion. Pullovers in bright colors and bold patterns are now a staple at any major fashion retailer. And in the art world, knitter master Katva Budkovskava tries to give a knitted piece a very specific physical form, while trying to keep what's going on inside the piece loose, chaotic and dynamic. Katya uses a technique she calls a "triple weave," which allows her to use more color and create a more defined silhouette. Creating pieces that are "functional" - like most knitwear - her pieces are intended to be placed on a wall, exist as "abstract art" and be admired simply for the intricate images they create.
